Throughout this week’s research, I have been able to see how the change in technology has made a difference in the way we preserve art and manufacturers create products. The type of innovations created with the help of technology has been astonishing. Products which have been made by hand for many years are now a part of an assembly line that can produce vast amounts of products in half the time. Along with the creation of every day products is the ability to innovate things, and the continuation of improving on them time and time again. Robotics will have a substantial impact in society as it evolves into every day life. Despite the negative ideas that movies like The Terminator relate about robotics, today’s innovation and development in this area will have a positive impact in our society. Apple is a great example of this with the creation of their unique voice recognition in Siri who demonstrate artificial intelligence as it interprets questions and commands. Many areas of robotics are expanding and just like the Sky-Net robots in the Terminator, that were created as imaginary futuristic art are a reality in drones that exist as an integral of the military. A critical area where art has impacted robotic technology is in the area of human-like androids. Designer David Hanson has created a robot that can react to facial expressions and respond to human reaction and engage in conversation. This has impacted the health care field with positive results working with autistic kids, helping them make eye contact and improving their social skills. The spectrum relating to robotics is always evolving as art and technology continue to push creative limits.

I enjoyed the connection you presented, between art, technology and health. The positive connections between the two fields are both astonishing and often underrepresented.
